Fangirl,
eh? It does ring bells because in this age we all obsess over something either
it’s a book series, movie, season, or celebrity. All the fangirls and fanboys
can relate to this book (I myself did). Cath, a crazy fan of Simon Snow,
starts her college and finds it difficult to adjust as she isn’t outgoing like
her twin sister Wren. An unknown roommate, eating in the lunch hall, leaving
his dad alone (her parents are divorced) are just a few things she fears. And
how will she keep up with her studies and the writing fanfiction at the same
time? It’s all up to you to find out.
Personally,
it is one of my favorites and whenever someone asks me for book
recommendations, this is always the first one I mention. It is beautifully
written with Simon Snow excerpts in between. This is the one if you want a
light romantic read, nothing heavily emotional. If I describe this book in
three words they would be simple, amusing, and sweet.
My favorite excerpt from the book:
"Just...isn't giving up allowed sometimes? Isn't it okay to say, 'This really hurts, so I'm going to stop trying?"
"It sets a dangerous precedent."
"For avoiding pain."
"For avoiding life."
